Geocentric Theory
Geocentric Model
The
geocentric theory was made in and by the ancient Greek and was believed by Aristotle
and Ptolemy. This theory stated that the Earth was in the center of the
universe. It was believed by most Greeks that the Sun, Stars, Moon, and other
plants orbited around the Earth. The early astronomers believed that the earth
was motionless and stable while the remainder of the universe was
continuously moving.
About
The geocentric theory included a group of fifty-five
different sizes crystalline spheres. These crystalline (which means having a
structure or form of crystal) spheres were told to hold the plants, Sun, and the
stars. These spheres also known as deferent, rotated at different rates around
the Earth to account for the rising and setting of these space objects every
day. Each sphere was made up of Earths elements: water, fire, earth, air. Each wandering star and plants had it's own crystal sphere. The rest of the universe and planets were on the last crystal sphere

Fact:China also at this time has similar beliefs.

Arguments supporting the Theory
There were several
points that Aristotle argued how the Earth must be the center of the universe
because:
This theory works for years and worked for the people at the time but in later years when more advance technology and different theory's erupted, this theory started to disintegrate.
The new theory was the Heliocentric model. This model stated that the Sun was in fact the center of the Universe and we revolved around the Sun. Reasons for new TheoryFirst Johannes kepler pointed out, that orbits are not perfect circles or spheres. Then Galileo Galilei pointed out that Jupiter has its own moons orbiting it. This angered many as they believe everything revolved around earth. For Jupiter's moons to be orbiting Jupiter made many people feel not as important. Finally Issac Newton came out that there is a gravitation pull, which means that all objects are pulling on each other.

This photos shows the different layers of the celestial crystal. The inside where we can see the big circle is Earth and the smaller circles are the different plants.
